Rewind 2020: A Year-End Narrative Of Challenges, Potential And Progress
The year 2020 will go down in history as one of the most remarkable periods in human history and probably not for good reasons. 2020 marked the beginning of what would become a long, drawn-out fight against the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus i.e. the Covid-19 virus. The pandemic posed several challenges as it induced a global lockdown, resultantly halting everything.
Despite this, we are happy to report that Team Edugo Abroad produced significant positive results during the year. Persistent support from the associate universities, our partners as well as the students produced outstanding results in the form of impactful connections and a number of student visa approvals.
As the visionaries of Edugo Abroad, Mr. Chintan Modi & Mr. Bhargav Modi reflect back upon the year and discussed the events in a nutshell. In this blog, we look at some of our major highlights & achievements to wrap up the year.
Before COVID-19 Lockdown
January 2020 - March 2020
We began the year with a great sense of optimism and enthusiasm in our efforts to make quality education accessible for Indian study abroad aspirants. As a step forward, we initiated the ‘Bonjour France’ campaign with an aim to establish a robust affiliation with several ranked French universities. The campaign was a huge success with our team personally visiting the university campuses and the universities attending our home offices in India.
The early months of 2020 also witnessed Edugo Abroad tie-up with numerous other world-renowned universities, thereby offering Indian students a stronger global exposure.
Global Outbreak of COVID-19 and Subsequent Lockdown
April 2020 - May 2020
By the end of March, the COVID-19 virus spread across the entire world which compelled the World Health Organization to declare it as a pandemic. What followed was an extended period of the economic shutdown and a global lockdown. In order to comply with the government-mandated guidelines, all our activities went virtual.
With the same energy & enthusiasm as before, we stood in the face of adversity and continued to offer guidance to our students through virtual counselling. The adoption of virtual counselling approach empowered us with the opportunity to broaden our outreach to students all over the country as offered thoughtful counselling to them via the digital platform.
Furthermore, in collaboration with our associate universities, we launched an elaborate awareness campaign to help students make an informed choice about their future. This comprised virtual educational fairs and insightful webinars that covered a wide variety of critical topics including ‘The impact of COVID-19 on the global education sphere’. Below is a list of webinars that were held for students and our partners over a period of 60 days:
• Study In France Webinar With Jade Kadi
• Video Conference With BSBI, Germany Representative
• Study In Ireland, Griffith College - Webinar
• Study In France, ESC Clermont - Webinar
• Study In France, Campus France - Webinar For Students
• Study In Ireland, Fall 2020 Intake - Webinar

Several of our associate universities also conducted virtual tours of their respective campuses for their students and resumed online classes.
Accepting The New Normal
May 2020 and Onwards
By the end of June 2020, the economy started opening gradually as the world started embracing life with COVID-19. It was during this time that Team Edugo Abroad moved forward with its decision to re-open its offices. With public safety & hygiene as our top-most priority, we strictly adhered to all the safety measures of social distancing, masks, and sanitization. Through frequent testing of the team members & regular sanitization of the premises, we facilitated a completely secure & hygienic environment for students who sought guidance to progress towards their goal of abroad education. As the international borders started opening progressively, we also managed to send several of our students to their dream study abroad destination.
With utmost safety precautions in place, our team also partook in festival celebrations such as Diwali and Christmas to instill a sense of high-spirit & optimism.
For the rest of the year, we resumed our operations by strictly following all the guidelines and steering many students on their way towards a bright educational journey. Despite all the constraints, Team Edugo Abroad rose above the obstacles and achieved fabulous results in 2020.
Look At What Our Numbers Have To Say
A staunch approach in our efforts and persistent support from our partners & associate universities ensured that we assisted a significant number of students with their study abroad dream.
During 2020, we triumphantly counselled 2000+ students, confirmed admission for more than 250 of our students, and received visa approvals for 200+ students and more are already in the pipeline for the 2021 intakes.
These numbers accurately reflect the extent of our dedication and success in offering a robust platform to Indian students who aspire to build an international professional career.
Gearing Up For 2021
Several of our students’ visa approvals already coming in for the Spring 2021 intake have given us a powerful head-start for the upcoming year. Mr. Chintan Modi & Mr. Bhargav Modi remarked that as many students were unable to go through with their process this year, 2021 gives them and us an exciting opportunity to achieve great results.
To add to that, the news of a potential Covid-19 vaccine has created a surge in the enthusiasm of study abroad aspirants as many Indian students look forward to fulfilling their dream of studying abroad. With this, we wrap up what constituted as a challenging yet rewarding year and prepare ourselves for the future that lies ahead of us.
