Admission Process Updates In Major French Business Schools Due To COVID - 19
Who thought that the sudden outbreak of Coronavirus will become a pandemic? It rose from a small corner of the world and now has affected almost all the countries. Abroad study is one section of education structure which also couldn't be away from it. So, French universities came one step closer to help the students by making some positive changes. Most of the French Business schools made some major changes in their admission process and fee structure.
Ms. Shivani Chavda, our Admission Process Executive, is closely working with the top French business schools. With her expert knowledge of working in the present scenario compelled her to write a blog, entitled admission process updates In major French business schools due to COVID 19.
Here the blog starts with some great insights.
We were all living our lives in peace until a disease named COVID-19 came from nowhere and hit our peace of mind. It is a hard time for the globe as over the last couple of weeks the COVID-19 has become a pandemic. The whole world is right now fighting with the situation which has occurred due to COVID-19. This disease is putting all the efforts to let everything down and at some point, things are going down as it is affecting the day to day life of every individual. But is it going to help us? Is it going to threaten us enough to stop everything and put all the work aside and think about how many ways it can affect us or our life? Everybody is taking a step to be safe from it. Everyone is taking care and locking us in the house but the one thing which should not stop is the work we do. We cannot just sit back, stop everything and wait for the end to come and start all over again, instead, we could put all our efforts to make things right and continue working with all the focus which we are putting in the virus for now.
As we talk about the changes which are happening right now due to this global pandemic there are some universities in a country like France who came forward to put all their efforts, work for the flexibility of the students and become lenient with the process of the applications so that the students can achieve their desired career.
The efforts universities have made:
1) Application fees waiver
The universities are waiving their fees to process the application smoothly. They are understanding the situation and helping the students into the application process. Looking at the situation, the universities and Business schools like La Rochelle and Pole Leonard De Vinci have waived their application fees up to 50 Euro during the pandemic.
2) Leniency in the documents
The universities are being very lenient with the documents which were priorly compulsory required at the time of application, I.e. Letter of Recommendation, Language proficiency documents, Transcripts. They understand that all the students might not be able to provide these important documents until everything starts to work smoothly and they are not putting their application due to these. Instead, they are helping and processing the applications without them.
3) Deferring intakes
Almost All the universities are deferring the current intakes and not cancelling it. Summer intake i.e. May intake has been transferred to June in most of the universities like American Business School, SHG etc. Apart from that, they are also giving extension in the application deadline for September intake which was June, July before and now they have extended it to august.
4) Extension in time to make the tuition fees payment
Many universities have provided the extension to make the payment of the fee, as generally, the student has to make the fee payment after the 15 days of the receiving admission letter now they have given the extension up to a month.
Paris School of Business, American Business School, Pole Leonardo De Vinci has given the extension to the students.
5) Academic Criteria
Some universities are being flexible with the academic criteria too. They are giving chance to the students whose score is not matching with the criteria but the student has the potential and good knowledge about their interest and wants to study in the university.
Audencia Business School has become flexible with the criteria. Priorly they used to only accept the student with minimum 60% but now depending on the profile they are accepting the student with 50% who has the motivation and right focus towards studies.
